The Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival Committee is very sad and disappointed to announce that the festival will not be running this year.

This decision has not been taken lightly. From March, the National Trust will be taking over the management of the Museums in and around the Ironbridge Gorge. While the National Trust has indicated that, in principle, it would be happy to host the festival this year, it will not be possible for them to fully engage with us ahead of the March transition. As a result, it has not been possible to fully confirm dates or specific arrangements for this year’s event. The uncertainty has significant implications for essential fundraising activities and for confirming arrangements with bands, our valued food/drink suppliers, volunteers and other partners. The timing of the March takeover also leaves too little time to adapt the current festival format to any new requirements that may arise. We have explored a number of alternative venues in an effort to keep the festival running this year. Unfortunately, none have been able to meet the specific needs of the event. We appreciate that this will be disappointing news for bands, audiences, volunteers, and supporters who look forward to the festival each year, and we are extremely grateful for your continued enthusiasm and understanding.

The festival committee will be in touch with the National Trust as soon as they are fully established at the museums, with a view to bringing the Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival back in 2027.
